Respond

for the Kids

Respond for the Kids was formed by a group of Victorian emergency service officers who wanted to raise much-needed funds for The Royal Children’s Hospital. Each year the funds raised will support a different area within the hospital, with this year’s funds being donated to the Paediatric Emergency Transport Service (PETS).

Respond participants are all volunteers and fund raise during their off-duty hours, which means 100% of the monies donated to Respond will be given to The Royal Children’s Hospital to enhance the lives of these very special children.

The major fundraiser for 2007 was Respond Kokoda. Respond Kokoda provided emergency services officers the opportunity to both walk the amazing Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea and to raise funds for The Royal Children's Hospital at the same time. The trip was totally self funded by the participants who also committed to raise a minimum of $1000 each for The Royal Children's Hospital. The incredibly successful Respond Kokoda 2007 raised over $50,000, which purchased a vital piece of equipment for the Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Children's Hospital.
